About me as a doula:
Even before becoming a Lamaze instructor for Merced Community College, I was interested in pregnancy and birth. As a Lamaze instructor, students would ask if I would attend their births and I would gladly do so. I love being able to assist an expecting mother and her support person(s), when she is birthing. It is a magical time.
Credentials/Experience:
I completed Doulas Of North America training and was certified by DONA in 2009 as a Certified Doula (CD).
I also completed Dar a Luz birth doula training and was certified as a Birth Doula (BD).
In 2009 I trained and certified as a Hypnobabies Childbirth Hypnosis Doula (HCHD) called a Hypnodoula for short.
What is a doula?
A doula provides support during pregnancy and birthing. A doula does not perform any medically oriented tasks nor replace the main support person(s). Because of training, a doula can provide physical and emotional expertise and has the knowledge to help the expectant mother and her support person(s) by answering pregnancy questions, assisting with birth plans and attending the baby’s birth.

What is a Hypnodoula?
A Hypnodoula is a doula who took the Hypnobabies Hypnodoula course, and was trained and certified as a Hypnodoula. A Hypnodoula may use some of the same physical techniques that Non-Hypnobirth doula's do, while using hypnosis cues and techniques learned to maintain comfort for the birthing Hypnomom.Click for more Hypnobabies doula information. http://www.hypnobabies.com

• A meeting to get acquainted and discuss your needs
• Prenatal visit(s) as needed
• 24 hour telephone and email support
• I’ll help you practice your childbirth education skills
• Birth planning and preparation
• Birthing support
• Cesarean birth support
• Take photos if wanted
• Postpartum visit in the hospital or home
